Leader of opposition in Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) Payal Sakariya was suspended from the general board meeting on Tuesday by Mayor Daxesh Mavani. Sakariya was demanding inclusion of AAP’s suggestions in the budget and refused to stop despite mayor’s request.

Vending zones are planned to be established for street vendors in the Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) limits. The Mayor, Sudheer Shetty Kannur, announced the initiative during the launch of Dakshina Kannada Beedibadi Vyaparasthara Cooperative Society. Street vendors will be surveyed at the ward level, and the MCC will allocate land for the vending zones. The aim is to provide designated spaces for vendors to conduct their business without inconveniencing the public.
