Chandra Ramanujan, a Bengaluru-based product designer took to X to slam Urban Companys app for its dark patterns. He claimed that the interface is designed to confuse users and narrated how his elderly father ended up paying for the companys premium plan.

In his post, he accused Urban Company's app of using "dark patterns" - design tricks that can mislead users.
