The strikers work for the land Line Division of verizon, they currently have a wage and benefit package averaging 130,000 a year and offering a 6. 5 pay hike and a 401 k with a company match. The unions are not impressed. You can give us all the raises you want in the world but if you dont have a job its nothing. The main thing is job security, they want guarantees that the jobs will stay local and are concerned that the job call jobs will move out of the region or overseas.
