Berks County detectives arrested a Reading man Tuesday following an investigation of alleged sexual abuse of a 15-year-old girl in a city home this fall.
Nicholas Roman Jr., 41, is accused of sexually assaulting the girl, whom he knew, twice in October. Detectives said he provided her marijuana, sent her sexually explicit texts and threatened her not to tell anyone about the abuse.
Roman surrendered to county detectives to face charges of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, unlawful contact with a minor, aggravated indecent assault, intimidation, retaliation or obstruction in a child abuse case and related counts.

In a news release, detectives provided this account:
A Reading man was charged Wednesday with sexually abusing a young boy, county detectives said.Â
Jose M. Sosa, 75, was charged with indecent assault, corruption of minors and endangering the welfare of children.Â
Sosa surrendered to detectives Wednesday afternoon. He was arraigned before District Judge Tonya Butler, who set Sosa s bail at $10,000 unsecured.Â

The Reading Police Department received a report on Oct. 10 of a young child being sexually abused. The department referred the case to the Berks County Detectiveâs Office.
On Oct. 13, county detectives received a report from the state Childline Referral about a sexual abuse victim identified as an 8-year-old boy.
