A mass stabbing has taken place in a Chinese hospital leaving at least two dead and 23 injured, according to state media.

Two people died and seven others were being treated in hospital after sustaining injuries in a knife attack on Tuesday in China's southwestern Yunnan province, local authorities said.

Three people were killed and six others wounded in a knife attack Wednesday at a kindergarten in southeast China's Jianxi province.

The attack took place at a private kindergarten in Anfu county of Ji'an in southeast China's Jiangxi province, at 10:22 am.

China has upgraded security at schools following a spate of deadly attacks in recent years. 

Police in central China were hunting Tuesday for a man who killed seven people including a village Communist Party chief before jumping off a bridge, officers said.

A deadly knife attack in eastern China on Saturday killed at least five people and left 15 injured, according to local police.
