To pilots, especially ones in mortal danger, air traffic controllers are voices at the end of a lifeline, saviors of the skies.

A beautiful day turned dangerous when a passenger needed to land a plane after the pilot passed out 10,000 feet over the ocean.

Despite not knowing how to fly a plane, with the help of air controllers, Darren Harrison managed to land a plane after the pilot passed out.

A small plane was traveling from the Bahamas to Florida when its pilot became incapacitated. Two passengers had to figure out what to do next.

The first person that a hero pilot came in contact with before landing last week at Palm Beach International Airport was based at the Treasure Coast International Airport in St. Lucie County.

Chip Flores heard on radio transmissions calmly telling Darren Harrison how to fly the plane while a team of people came up with a plan for landing safely.

Darren Harrison, who jumped in to fly a plane after his pilot collapsed, is described as level-headed guy.
