A former board member of the Kanawha County Public Service District was sentenced Wednesday, April 3, 2024, to two-year of probation for an embezzlement charge he pleaded guilty to in January 2024. John Rubin, 69, of Hernshaw faced felony charges for allegedly taking money and other property for his own use that belonged to the public service district.
