The Lisle village board has approved a flat property tax levy that includes a $250,000 abatement, officials announced Tuesday.

Lisles board of trustees voted this weeke for a policy on flood plain property acquisition and demolition. The policy will allow the village a secondary source of funding to remove properties at risk of serious flood damage.

Lisle is considering using the Denver Boot to collect unpaid fines for five or more parking violations. The vehicle-immobilizing device is already in use by police in Arlington Heights, Roselle and Hoffman Estates.

Lisle trustees voted Monday to override Mayor Chris Pecaks veto of a plan to provide economic incentives to encourage the redevelopment of a vacant shopping center in the villages downtown.

Lisle Chief of Police Ron Wilke has announced his retirement. Wilke has 25 years of police service in Lisle, working in mulitple positions in the department before he was promoted to chief of police in 2020. Wilke officially steps down on Feb. 25.
