A cruel Darlington couple who inflicted a lengthy campaign of physical and emotional abuse on three children have their prison sentences increased.

Both offenders will serve longer prison sentences for child cruelty following a referral of their cases under the Unduly Lenient Sentence scheme

In September Lorna Dennington, 47, was jailed for 12 months at Teesside Crown Court after admitting three charges of child cruelty. Her sentence has now been increased to four years and ten months.
