Some Lexington council members urged the council Tuesday to wait until the Kentucky General Assembly decides on pending bills before voting on housing choice ordinance.

“We have young people who don’t have a home. I refuse to wait and you should, too,” one Lexington council member said.

A key open seat includes the 12th District, which is Fayette County’s rural area. Council member Kathy Plomin, who has held the seat since 2016, has announced she won’t run again.
