General Beau pays way to Diamond

TRAINERS Matt Ellerton and Simon Zahra along with jockey Jamie Kah will be strongly recommending that connections of General Beau pay the $55,000 late entry fee for the colt to run in the $1.5 million Blue Diamond Stakes at Caulfield next month.
The colt comfortably and impressively won the Diamond Preview (1000m) at Caulfield, earning $96,000 for the victory.
Starting the $3.70 favourite, General Beau defeated the Mick Price and Michael Kent Jr-trained Extreme Warrior by half-a-length, with the fancied Gulf of Suez from the Ciaron Maher-David Eustice stable a length away third.
