The private school in Cedar Rapids, known for its approach to teaching reading and writing, is considering future expansion.

MARION, IOWA (June 5, 2023) — Monarch Research is thrilled to announce a collaborative endeavor with local health-care providers, Mercy Medical Center and UnityPoint Health, to launch the "One Child, One Tree — Growing Together" program.

Organizations are using more grassroots efforts to plant trees, and many residents taking the initiative since the Aug. 10, 2020, derecho.

Green teams are interactive, educational programs in Cedar Rapids schools that empower students and staff to help the environment through waste reduction, energy and water conservation, and environmental education.

Two area nonprofits, Monarch Research and Trees Forever, will continue to help Linn County residents replant trees downed in the 2020 derecho with tree distributions this spring.

Monarch Research is providing large private landowners with native trees to be planted this spring in the 2022 Planting Forward for Woodlands project. Interested landowners have from now until Feb. 18 to order trees in time for spring planting.
