Create more jobs, as reagan used to say, greater rising tide that lifts all boats. i dont think he should play into the class warfare line. i think americans, if they feel like its going to be better for the middle class, i dont think they care if wealthy people do better, as well. >> do you think everyone, every economic group in america is going to benefit? >> i do. it will be good for growth, jobs and wages. we can get the growth rate up to 3%, 3.5%, a big improvement over the last eight year...

Moguls is ridiculous. >> steven, the presidents plan cuts the top tax rate for the wealthy from 39.5% to 35%, so how can he say it doesnt help the rich including him? >> well, i think -- by the way, don, i worked with donald trump on the campaign and i helped write the tax plan. its very similar to the plan that came out yesterday. so im very familiar with it. i think its probably silly for him to say hes not going to benefit from it. i think what he should say is every american will benefit fro...

The line or suffer the consequences. >> you have just win a book about how polarized we are, is this an example of it where you cant go out on a limb and still be held tight within the party. >> it is absolutely a case of that. mayor booker is saying something i think is right. its how we grow the economy, how we grow jobs and create profits, he was told unless he put to a class warfare line which is the white house approach, he would suffer the consequences. >> so the president has clarified hi...

The republican phony class warfare line. >> republicans and congress who fought us tooth and nail to protect the status quo. >> tonight bob shrum and michael steele on who is really fighting for the middle class. congresswoman karen bass on the myth of obamas shrinking base, and she dishes on the l.a. dinner date. a birthday shoutout to lady liberty, but not from them. >> i will build a double-walled fence. >> blame all the illeap -- >> thats not what she had in mind. "politics nation" starts ...

And lower tax rates than they faced in 50 years. what the president is saying is, americans are on their backs. most americans are either jobless or afraid of losing their jobs or their wages are going down. they cant make ends meet. you at the top, you have got to play your part. enough of this. and i think most americans say yes, that is a moral argument that i agree with. >> its my sense the republicans were so unready to deal with the specifics of the presidents proposal that they just fell ...
