Josh and Ian Densford had been watching the space at 411 Hot Springs Road in Carson City since they had learned Classy Seconds would be relocating to its new facility on Gordon Street off U.S. Highway 50 East.

In an update Wednesday from Advocates to End Domestic Violence, the organization behind the communitys annual summer culinary favorite Taste of Downtown Carson City, the event wont take place on July 18 as volunteers had hoped. However, organizers are working on plans to find a way to make the event happen this year.

The Office of the District Attorney in Carson City is collecting new or used business attire. The clothing collected will be donated to Classy Seconds which, through the work of Advocates to End Domestic Violence, provides free business attire to individuals seeking to enter or re-enter the job market.

Numbers speak volumes: 5,443 survivors, 178,393 nights of safe shelter, 3,640 support groups, 21,840 support group attendees. These are the ways Advocates to End Domestic Violence has been helping Carson City over the last four decades. This year, Advocates is celebrating its 40th year anniversary, and our community is better because of it.

FCA Area Director, Pastor Timothy Plummer, has once again brought Christmas trees to Carson City. Christmas is fast approaching, and most agree it is the best time of the year, so Timothy has once again brought to the Carson City community an outreach project called the FCA Lift Christmas Tree Lot.
