Malaysian energy giant Petronass renewable energy arm Gentari Sdn Bhd is leading the race for a part of Indias renewable portfolio from Brookfield Asset Management.

Gentari Sdn Bhd, the renewable energy arm of Malaysian energy giant Petronas, is the frontrunner for a part of the India renewable portfolio of Brookfield Asset Management, said two people aware of the development.

Currently, Brookfield has about 20 GW of wind and solar assets in operation or in the development pipeline across India. Investment bank JP Morgan has been hired to run the process, said people aware of the matter.

Pharmaceutical major Cipla is exploring a stake sale to private equity majors including Blackstone and Baring Asia, MoneyControl reported.

India's Avaada Group has amassed a whopping $1.07 billion from Brookfield to expand its green hydrogen and green ammonia ventures.
