Jacobs Pavilion will serve as the main court for the Cleveland Championships, a WTA tournament that will be held at the Nautica Entertainment Complex in August.
Topnotch Management has made it official: A prominent Women s Tennis Association tournament is coming to the Flats this summer.
The Cleveland Championships, a WTA 250 event, will be held at Jacobs Pavilion and the surrounding Nautica Entertainment Complex the week of Aug. 22-28.
Topnotch, a Cleveland agency that represents professional tennis and soccer players, first told Crain s of its plans for the WTA tournament in January. At the time, the only thing holding the company back from fully committing to the venture was a lack of firm commitments on sponsorships.
Cleveland Open is returning in March, but access will be limited because of pandemic

The Cleveland Open will return to the Cleveland Racquet Club on March 15. U.S. Bank is the event s primary sponsor.
The pandemic has changed some of the plans for the Cleveland Open including pushing the event back to mid-March but the tournament is returning for Round 3.
The ATP Challenger Tour event will be held at the Cleveland Racquet Club from March 15-20. As part of the event s COVID-19 protocols, only tournament sponsors and Cleveland Racquet Club members will be able to attend. The tournament will be streamed live on the ATP Tour s website.
