Posted: Wed 2nd Jun 2021 Wrexham residents encouraged “to be part of the pick” and take part in Spring Clean Cymru Residents across Wrexham and across Wales are being encouraged to ‘be part of the pick’ and join Spring Clean Cymru 2021. The initiative, which runs between May 28 and June 13, calls on individuals, households, schools and formal community groups to clean-up the streets, parks or beaches on their doorstep. More than 200 clean-ups across Wales have already been registered for Spring Clean Cymru, which is part of Caru Cymru (a Welsh phrase meaning ‘Love Wales’) – the biggest ever initiative to eradicate litter and waste.

Plans for affordable housing development in Ruabon granted Plans to build more than 40 new affordable homes in Wrexham have been given the go ahead. An application for the redevelopment of the site at Wynnstay Technology Park in Ruabon was approved by planning committee members this week. The 1.72 hectare site already had outline planning permission for a mixed use development made up of light industrial units, retail unit and 35 residential properties. However as part of the plans put forward by Cartrefi G.O, it had been proposed that 43 affordable homes and a new access point to the site are developed on the “redundant” land.

Clwyd South MS Ken Skates and Johnstown councillor David Bithell held talks with senior Natural Resources Wales officers after the blaze at Hafod Quarry in late May, calling for a full inquiry to take place and for the site not to resume operations until it had concluded.
