Fire crews from the City of Carlsbad and Eddy County responded to a structure fire south of Carlsbad around noon Wednesday.

An ongoing aggressive plan laid out nearly two years ago by the Eddy County Public Works Department to improve county roads resulted in hundreds of miles of completed work. Public Works Department data from July 2019 to September 2021 showed 665 miles of Eddy County roads will be bladed with a road grader, chip sealed or paved.
