Pune/IBNS: The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has built a fully indigenous assault rifle, named Urgram, in only 100 days, media reports said.

The assault rifle will undergo firing tests without stoppage, accuracy checks, and consistency evaluations. Trials will be conducted in various environmental conditions, including high altitudes and desert scenarios

The 'Ugram' rifle was developed at the Armament Research and Development Establishments (ARDE), the DRDO's Pune-based laboratory.

Joshi is a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Clemson University, the US, and had joined the facility in August 2000.
