KUALA LUMPUR: Police have seized at least RM100,000 cash after arresting a man believed to be involved in an online gambling ring.
Brickfields OCPD Asst Comm Anuar Omar said they conducted a raid at Taman Bukit Indah here at around 12.30am on Sunday (July 4). A team from Brickfields together with a gambling expert from City police headquarters as well as forensic officers from Bukit Aman were involved in the raid. We arrested a 41-year-old suspect and seized three mobile phones, RM100,000 cash and two computers which showed bets placed online using the two websites, he said in a statement Sunday.
KUALA LUMPUR: A 24-year-old man was blackmailed after making a video call to a foreign woman where he indulged in an act of self-pleasure.
Brickfields OCPD Asst Comm Anuar Omar said the incident occurred at around 9pm on Friday (July 2) when the complainant made the call to the woman he met over Tantan, a dating app.
During the four-minute video call, both parties were nude and indulged in masturbation, he said in a statement on Sunday (July 4).
He said about half an hour later, the complainant received a message demanding RM3,000 in cash. The suspect threatened to spread a video of the complainant if he refused to pay.
