Two properties belonging to the now-closed Vernon Township Volunteer Fire Department soon may have new ownership.

A $36,000 shortfall in downpayment funds halted Clearfield Borough’s purchase of a new fire truck.

Council approved the purchase of a 2024 custom built 2,000-gallon pumper-tanker fire vehicle. The cost of the fire vehicle will be $805,000.

Purchase price of the truck is $159K. The village will pay $26,000 and secure a loan for the remaining balance of $133,000.
