Now that the Linux 6.10 merge window has wrapped up, here's a look at all of the exciting features/changes coming to this summer 2024 kernel.

The open-source Panthor DRM driver for supporting newer Arm Mali GPUs was queued in drm-misc-next at the start of March ahead of the Linux 6.9 merge window

As the first of Arm Mali firmware to be added to the linux-firmware.git repository, the Gen10 Mali 'Panthor' firmware has been added as part of the effort on the new open-source Panthor DRM kernel driver currently working its way upstream.

Being worked on recently by Boris Brezillon at Collabora is Panthor, a new Direct Rendering Manager (DRM) driver for supporting the newer Arm Mali graphics processors.

MediaTek’s new flagship SoC, the Dimensity 9000, is a key milestone, being the first Total Compute solution available on silicon. The premium Total Compute solution adopts the powerful Arm Cortex-X2 CPU alongside 3x Arm Cortex-A710 CPUs and 4x Arm Cortex-A510 CPUs, as well as a 10-core Arm Mali-G710 GPU, all optimized on TSMC 4nm.

Arm has announced the first CPUs based on the Armv9 architecture, along with new GPUs and other processors to go along with it. The new CPUs promise 30% more performance over the previous generation.
