Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo and Governor Roy Cooper Announce $45 Billion “Internet for All” Initiative During Durham Visit.

Between May 15-18, Deputy Secretary of Commerce Don Graves will lead a trade mission to Brazil as part of the 2022 South America Trade Mission and Business Conference. Aside from Brazil, the broader South America trade mission will include stops in Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, and Uruguay.

The $300 million of technical assistance includes $100 million for the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Minority Business Development Agency to provide technical assistance to underserved entrepreneurs seeking greater access to capital, including venture capital financing.

Today, the U.S. Department of Commerce and the Biden-Harris Administration joined 60 global partners in launching The Declaration for the Future of the Internet, recommitting to the vision of the global Internet as a platform for openness and innovation, while promoting and protecting human rights.
