Shandong-based Orienspace pulled off its first-ever launch, breaking the record for the largest payload capacity on a commercial rocket for China’s growing space industry.

The Gravity-1 solid rocket, built by Chinese company Orienspace, aced its first-ever launch today (Jan. 11), sending three satellites to orbit.

A commercial rocket from China on Wednesday successfully launched five satellites into space, which will be used for remote sensing, according to Anadolu Agency. The rocket, CERES-1, is developed by a Chinese private firm Galactic Energy
