Following a student-led nomination process, 23 MIT faculty have been selected as the newest honorees for the Committed to Caring award. These professors were selected for their genuine dedication to student mentorship and well-being.

MIT Professor Ben Schneider was honored as Committed to Caring for acting as a "bedrock of compassion" when supporting his students through the Covid-19 pandemic.

MIT professor and Committed to Caring honoree Esther Duflo encourages her students to tackle ambitious projects with far-reaching social and societal implications. Her flexible mentorship approach enables students to get the most of their advising relationship.

MIT Professor Angelika Amon was recognized posthumously as Committed to Caring for her wide-reaching and personal care for her students, as well as the unique mentorship dynamic she developed with each of her students.

MIT Professor Michael Birnbaum was recognized as Committed to Caring for his honest and valuable mentorship, as well as his passion for diversity and departmental leadership.

Committed to Caring honoree David Autor plays an active leadership role within the MIT Department of Economics when it comes to student and diversity initiatives. He also works hard to connect his students with the resources they need to succeed.

MIT Professor and Committed to Caring honoree Jeff Grossman strives to tailor his mentorship style to each of his students. This, coupled with Grossman’s emphasis on work-life balance, enables his students’ success.

MIT Assistant Professor of Linguistics Athulya Aravind has been honored as Committed to Caring. She helps her graduate students navigate research and academia, fostering an enriching and compassionate research environment.

Karthish Manthiram visiting assistant professor of chemical engineering at MIT, has been honored as Committed to Caring for his compassionate mentorship and encouragement of students to live balanced lives.
