But i was lucky to have women in my life that looked like me and achieved great things, and one of those great women that i looked up to the most, our current mayor, my godmother, london breed. She wasnt changed much, by the way. To this day, she is still the same wise, inspiring, and supportive person that she was when i was a child. I know all too well the impact that mayor breed has had on myself, and i am extremely excited to see all the wonderful things that she will do for the city, and fo...

San francisco is surrounded on three sides by water, the fire boat station is intergal to maritime rescue and preparedness, not only for San Francisco, but for all of the bay area. [sirens] fire station 35 was built in 1915. So it is over 100 years old. And helped it, were going to build fire boat station 35. Units and after it was rebuilt through hope 6 which was a whole other program before hope s. F. , there were only 200 units built. So clearly, everyone was not coming back. Thats why when i first started as a commissioner on the San Francisco Redevelopment Agency and we set out on our path to try and rebuild double rock and other places, it was important to me that we did it differently than we did in the past, so that residents played a Critical Role in not only deciding what fixtures and windo...

I personally love the mega jobs. I think theyre a lot of fun. I like being part of a build that is bigger than myself and outlast me and make a mark on a landscape or industry. We do a lot of the big sexy jobs, the stacked towers, Transit Center, a lot of the note worthy projects. Im Second Generation construction. My dad was in it and for me it just felt right.
