Valencia has been a constantly evolving roadway. The first bike lanes were striped in 1999, and today is the major north and south bike route from the Mission Neighborhood extending from market to mission street. It is difficult to navigate lindsay on a daily basis, and more specifically, during the morning and evening commute hours. From 2012 to 2016, there were 260 collisions on valencia and 46 of those were between vehicles and bikes. The mayor shows great leadership and she knew of the long ...

I just want to really acknowledge the team that really have pushed this forward quickly on this project. First of all , david wilkin sos has been our consultant from Northern California Community Loan fund. Thank you, david. Thank you for helping me understand this weave of stuff and so forth. Leading the way to make sure that we anchor the new market tax credit that we needed for the project is the city of San Francisco and the San Francisco Community Investment fund, or as we call it sfif. Wit...

Votes. Once that is completed it will be on the ballot in november. This is really incredible given in 2015, when we had our last housing bond, it was 310 million dollars. The amount has doubled, thats really exciting. We have also talked about putting Affordable Housing in the citys capital plans. We are really planning for Affordable Housing needs as part of our overall city needs and that we are accounting for that every 45 years. When we have expanded the bond proceeds that we are in q4 comi...

One part of a larger effort. The county department of social services sent some money over to the department of aging saying, how about you help with targeting folks 60 and over. And do an allocation base throughout the state and come up with 66,000 which comes down to us, which is to be used to target older adults, 60 and over , solely recognizing that six a 6,000, and the grand scheme, is not the largest amount of money, but we hope to at least cover some staff time to support the much larger ...

Tamika moss spear headed the effort. I remember a couple years back when we discovered we had empty Public Housing units. We worked with thenmayor ed lee to come up with 200 million to rehabilitate those units. And because of those services, we were able to place 179 formerly homeless families in Public Housing, and so tamika moss, come on up [applause] thank you so much, mayor breed. Good morning we are here on this momentous occasion to acknowledge the leadership of our mayor and our president...

Usf donates 100120 pounds of food a night. For the four semesters we have been running here, usf has donated about 18,000 pounds of food to the Food Recovery Network. Im maggie. Im nick. Were coechairs of the national led organization. What food recovery does is recover and redistribute food that would go wasted and redistributing to people in the community. The moment that i became really engaged in the cause of fighting food waste was when i had just taken the food from the usf cafeteria and i...

As latinos we are unified in some ways and incredibly diverse in others and this exhibit really is an exploration of nuance in how we present those ideas. Our debts are not for sale. A piece about sanctuary and how his whole family served in the army and its a long Family Tradition and these people that look at us as foreigners, we have been here and we are part of america, you know, and we had to reinforce that. I have been cure rating here for about 18 year. We started with a table top, candle...

A call to action, and this proposal is a direct response to that call for action. Weve heard concerns that having a commission in place could slow down services, and believe me, we are the last people that want to see delays in contracting because it affects our ability to keep lights on and provide services, but in our community, there is a strong support for the commission because we believe there will identify delays in contracting and help us campaign for the most Critical Issues facing our ...

Residents here. Thank you to everyone who joined us on the tours earlier of the unit. Today we, of course, through the tours saw the challenging conditions that people are living right in this neighborhood, just a few miles from our thriving downtown, and yet a world apart. As someone who grew up in Public Housing, i have lived these conditions. I know these conditions. I dont expect everyone to understand the challenges of Public Housing the way that i do or the way the residents of sunny dale ...

And i looked out the window and i saw a police car, and there was a woman who looked like me driving the car. For a moment, i thought i was me. And i turned to my friend and i said, i think im supposed to do this. I saw myself driving in this car. As a child, we never thought of police work as a possibility for women because there werent any until the mid70s, so i had only even begun to notice there were women doing this job. When i saw here, it seemed like this is what i was meant to do. One of...
