ORLANDO, Fla. (Oct. 15, 2023) – Kelly Selby, co-owner of Community Pharmacy in Denton, Texas, was named the recipient of the 2023 National Preceptor of the Year Award by the National Community Pharmacists Association Foundation as part of NCPA’s Annual Convention, which was held Oct. 14-17 in Orlando. This award recognizes a pharmacist who has made a significant contribution to the education of pharmacy students as a preceptor in a community practice setting.
A patient dropped a cake off for the staff at Community Pharmacy in Denton, Texas. The occasion? It was the patient’s 97th birthday, and she included a handwritten note:
“Today I am happily 97 years old, and one of the greatest gifts I have ever received in my lifetime is the care all of you give me.” She closed the note with, “Can’t say more than thank you, thank you, you are all the most!” At the bottom of the note, she added, “Celebrate with me … enjoy the cake.” Even without the cake, that’s one of the sweetest gifts a pharmacy staff can receive!
