Sabah to ban inter-district travel next Monday

KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah government has decided to ban any inter-district activity throughout the enforcement of the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) beginning May 10 to 16 except for emergencies. Sabah Local Government and Housing Minster Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun, who is also the state COVID-19 spokesman, said that Kota Kinabalu, Putatan and Penampang are considered as one district for the duration of the CMCO. “The police will set up roadblocks to control inter-district movement during the period,” he said in a statement yesterday. Sabah had previously allowed inter-district activities involving six zones in the state. Masidi also said that the state government has outlined several standard operating procedures (SOPs) that need to be observed throughout the Aidilfitri celebrations to curb the spread of COVID-19 in the state.

Bernama SEREMBAN: The police are in the final stage of completing the investigation papers (IP) on celebrity Neelofa Mohd Noor and husband, Haris Ismail, for allegedly violating the standard operating procedures on the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO). Negeri Sembilan police chief Datuk Mohammad Mat Yusop (pix, left) said the IP had been referred to the prosecution, but returned to the police for further investigation. “There are some actions that need to be taken and we expect a decision on it to be made soon,” he said at the wearing of rank for Sergeant Mat Shah Kasim (pix, right) here today.

Filming in MCO areas allowed, special SPP needed-Finas

06 May 2021 / 07:39 H. KUALA LUMPUR: Filming activities in areas under the Movement Control Order (MCO) are allowed but special filming certificates (SPP) are required. The National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (Finas) said in a statement yesterday that filming activities are subject to compliance with all the standard operating procedures (SOP) and guidelines by the National Security Council (MKN). Applications for the special SPP can be made from tomorrow (May 6) till May 17 on its website at www.finas.gov.my. “Filming activities in areas under the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) and the Recovery MCO (RMCO) can continue subject to compliance of the filming SOP set by the MKN and all guidelines covering disease prevention protocols, health screenings, sanitisation and decontamination of premises, physical distancing and worker security procedures and emergency response,” it said.
