Things that can go on here. notice the eye and also notice the cone. the middle through here, less of a cone on the left side of florida than on the right side of florida which means the chance of it being over here is about 5%, over here about 5%. somewhere in the middle about 60%. thats kind of how the cone works there. there is the cone, the middle of the cone on sunday morning, late saturday night after dark, this is what the models look like now. many of them just offshore in miami, a coupl...

>> a second hurricane about to hit, ryan explained to reporters why he was hoping for a longer deal. >> i personally think the debt limit, the longer, the better for the stability of the credit market. he was interested in making sure that this is a bipartisan moment while we respond to that hurricanes. i think that was what his motivation was. >> the reality is a lot of paul ryans rank and file republicans were unhappy with this agreement. once it is approved by the senate it will need a lot of...

Interesting. once it begins to interact with cuba and a lot of people fall in love with the middle of the track and think thats where the storm is forecast to go. it could go anywhere on the utter perifry of this, it could go on the outer perifry, which is the gulf and this is the most consensus zone of where the storm could end up. anywhere along the cone could get direct impact. you see how the cone is created and highest concentration south of bahamas thursday into friday and some of the mode...

Because this used to be one of those storms that you would only fear about and now its not. >> seth, when youre looking at the range of possibilities here, and were still charting the path so we still have this cone of uncertainty in a way but we do know this is coming upon puerto rico at this point in time. when you say youre looking at florida, what is the range of and severity and maybe best case scenario and worst case scenario. >> well, luckily, perhaps the best case scenario is the one tha...

It reaches florida. one thing we know, that outer band is going to lash the coast. with 4 foot storm surge, theyre going to get stronger. now to the track. didnt change much from this morning to this afternoon. well have another one later this evening. it did change from last night, shifting eastward somewhat. notice the cone of uncertainty. theyre keeping this cone still over in the gulf of mexico, because thats still a possibility. but its been dragged a little bit to the east. that opens the ...

Possibility is very wide. when you look at this thing, what the national hurricane center wants you to think about is this: the storm could hit in any area, this shaded area and the farther out you go, the more it grows. so right now everyone in the entire peninsula in florida is inside the cone of possibility. so in theory according to the hurricane center, it could hit on the west coast of florida, could hit on the east coast of florida. the best case for florida is it makes this turn earlier ...

Keep it over water. so it can sustain the strength. then again, still the timing. on saturday we watch it turn to the north and it makes that right hand pivot. once this makes its move were going to get a better idea. i know psychologically it is very difficult when you look at something like this, not to think that thats whats going to happen. we still have the option and the cone of uncertainty to move into the gulf or even like this model shows it, out into the open waters of the atlantic. we...

And north of cuba, notice the track has shifted a bit. we do still see florida in that cone of uncertainty for the weekend. i want to show you the computer models just to let you know its a variable and changing situation. its called the spaghetti model. this is the american version. remember, these water temperatures are in the upper 80s but then notice the guidance for the bulk shifting a little farther to the east. in our discussion at 5:00 a.m., the national hurricane center did recognize th...

Its certainly not over by any means. we have a new map to show you, 15 to 20 feet, imagine all of that water coming through the bahamas, and tuesdrks and caico maximum sustained winds of 185 miles per hour. the intensity has not movement fr changed the movement now north-northwest, 16 miles per hour. well continue to watch it as it works its way in this direction, maintaining that intensity, until we get to about sad. but still, a powerful category 4 by saturday morning toward sunday morning. yo...
