Street milling will start Monday as part of the next phase of the city of Loveland’s Garfield-Harrison project, which will cause some road closures and neighborhood disruptions in the coming months.

Even though passage of a citizen-initiated ballot issue on April 2 could delay or unravel plans for the massive Ladera mixed-use project, the Timnath Town Council on Tuesday chose not to wait for the results, unanimously approving the final 188.5-acre annexation, planned unit development overlay and rezoning for the development.

The Timnath Town Council on Tuesday night could approve a package of measures to advance the massive Ladera development, even though results of an April 2 ballot measure could substantially delay or even derail the project.

​Loveland Water and Power crews will close the westbound lanes of 29th Street between Garfield Avenue and Lake Drive next week ​to repair a leaky water main beneath the road. ​According to a news release, the closure will begin at 7 a.m. Monday and continue until Monday, Feb​. 5.

The stage is set for a final public hearing on annexing land into Timnath for the Ladera development that includes Connell's asphalt mining plant.

Ladera developers Connell LLC secured unanimous support Tuesday from the Timnath Planning Commission to annex 188 acres near Interstate 25 and East Harmony Road, despite concerns voiced by some residents about <a href="https://bizwest.com/2023/12/14/timnath-petition-could-force-second-ladera-vote/"><strong>a pending ballot measure</strong></a><strong> </strong>and notice of the public hearing for Tuesday’s meeting.

The measure asks voters to change the town charter to prohibit the town from annexing properties with open mining permits until reclamation is done.
