Tamaya horse rehab program has rescued more than 200 abandoned horses for the past decade

Typically, they’re used to seeing at least a hundred spectators in the stands, but because of the record breaking heat Collis believes people would rather be indoors.

Tamaya Horse Rehabilitation Program plans a major push to get its services to residents and businesses in Rio Rancho, Albuquerque and other local communities.

Tamaya Horse Rehab program founder Connie Collis said the facility resumed trail riding as an outdoor activity back in June, right after Season 17 of “The Bachelorette” was filmed nearby at the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort. The latter proved to be that extra financial boost, she said.
