At The Athenaeum: Portsmouth's Georgian gardens bloom again in exhibit
PORTSMOUTH - The exhibit “The Georgian Garden in Print and in Portsmouth 1714-1830” will open in the Portsmouth Athenaeum’s Randall Gallery on July 16. Portsmouth’s most exotic garden folly was “Fort Anglesea,” built about 1799 by Edward Parry (1766-1834) on the shoreline of the South Mill Pond at the foot of Edward Street in what is now a part of Haven Park.
