Reference is not only to the 1899 Malolos Constitution, the 1935 Commonwealth Constitution, the 1943 Japanese Constitution, the 1973 Constitution and the 1987 Constitution but also to the continuing quest for nationhood via a highest law of the land during the most trying times.

Ignoring calls to stop interfering in the domain of parliament, Pakistan’s Supreme Court on Thursday stopped operationalisation of a bill aimed at clipping the powers of the chief justice.
