The city of Davis has received nearly $24 million from a federal grant to install cool pavement technologies on roadways.

Grist designed a model metropolis for an era of high temperatures, using the coolest technology available.

Vestar joined forces with  ASU's Southwest Integrated Field Laboratory to launch the first-ever ‘Cool Pavement Project’ at a retail center. 

Scientists with ASU are working on a study in partnership with Vestar to reduce area heat through the use of "cool pavement" in urban areas.

The Los Angeles Bureau of Street Services has painted over 181 lane-miles with a coating that reflects heat and reduces ambient temperature.

At noon, when the sun is most intense, areas coated with cool pavement are 10.5-12 degrees cooler than asphalt.
