Bay. One man is dead after an overnight police shooting. The issue started late last night at a home on Mount Frazier drive. Officers recieved a call about a family disturbance. A father and son were arguing with each other. Police say when they got to the home. The 28yearold son came out of the garage and charged at one of the officers with kitchen knives in both hands. Thats when one of the officers fired his gun. Gerry Hernandez neighbor the guy got shot down the street. All i heard were three gunshots. When we came out they put the yellow cones on it. I think there were 8 to 10 cones down the street reporter did you know the man . Gerry Hernandez neighb orno grant the man was rushed to the hospital and into surgery where he later died. Police say the man has a history of drug use, Mental Illness and prior criminal threats. The officer involved in the shooting. Is a 15 year veteran and has been placed on paid administrative leave. Kron4s Charles Clifford has been tracking the situation all day. And joins us live from San Francisco tonight. Charles. Well, Market Street was finally reopened around 5pm this evening but the investigation into the shooting could continue for some time. Natsaccording to the San Francisco Police Department, just before 1130 wednesday morning two uniformed officers walking in the 900 block of Market Street witnessed a white adult male stabbing a philipino or asian male. The attack may have happened near or possibly inside a Subway Sandwich shop. The officers immediately intervened. Sot this is cell phone video of the scene captured by a fedex truck driver who was parked along Market Street. The driver says he saw people running. Sot happened. I just saw people coming out of subway. Following the shooting, the Police Department shutdown all lanes of Market Street between 5th and 6th streets and launched an investigation. Terrence liu is the High School Junior who was hit and killed by a train as he was crossing a small bridge of in the distance behind me. Sot everyone right now is in a state of shock right now of course some did cry but a majority are devastated just trying to take it all in. Classmates of High School Junior terrence liu reacting to news that he was hit and killed by a train wednesday morning. Liu was a student at kipp king collegian high school in san lorenzo. Sot hes a very quiet kid but hes actually a very very smart kid. Sot i was like oh gosh one of my classmates. Everyone was dead silent when that was mentioned at the gymliu was crossing this bridge when he was hit. Those with Union Pacific say he was either walking or riding his bike across. Wednesday night was the first time our crews saw a train come through this area and by the time we turned on the camera and started recording, the train was already here.
