For almost two years, Haylee O’Connell had no idea whether her brother was alive. An expert drone pilot and the generosity of strangers helped her to find the answer.

Police have identified human remains found in dense bushland as a man who has been missing for nearly two years.

Police said they identity of the remains was unconfirmed, but that they were found close to where Corey O’Connell went missing in 2021.

Police are declining to speculate on whether the remains are those of the young man, but say they are treating the discovery as linked to the investigation into his disappearance.
