The bell of Truro Cathedral has tolled 99 times this lunchtime in tribute to the Duke of Edinburgh who died yesterday morning. The owner of a self-catering premises in Perranporth has been ordered to pay a total of £3,780 in fines and costs after his premises failed to meet fire safety regulations. AN oven fire in a residential property prompted a call to firefighters in Penzance this afternoon.

Critical Control received at call at 10.25am from the RSPCA asking for help. A cat had managed to climb a particularly large tree in the Hayle area – only to get stuck 30 feet up.
