Nagpur district registered 2,261 Covid-19 positive cases on Saturday which was second highest on a single day in year-long pandemic and highest of ongoing second wave. Active cases further increased to 16,014 and the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) claimed no shortage of beds in its own, government-run hospitals and also private hospitals.
Nagpur reported 1,710 new cases on Wednesday. This was the highest single-day spike after 173 days.
NAGPUR: In view of growing coronavirus cases, a seven-day lockdown from March 15 to March 21 has been announced in Nagpur district.
The Nagpur Police Commisionerate has been given responsibility to impose the lockdown to contain the spread of Covid-19 infection.
During the period of the lockdown, only essential services will be allowed to operate.
