It’s become a bizarre national mystery, six cows found mutilated in Madison County. Investigators with the Madison County Sheriff’s Office said the remains weren’t even scavenged by animals.

"A straight, clean cut, with apparent precision, had been made to remove the hide around the cow’s mouth on one side, leaving the meat under the removed hide untouched," the sheriff's office said.

The grass was "undisturbed" around the area where the cows were found dead, and there were no footprints or tire tracks.
