A construction firm project manager, Anozeng Egbe, was abducted by gunmen in Calabar, the Cross River State capital, on Friday. Egbe was kidnapped barely three days after the police rescued nine travellers abducted along Okomita axis of the Calabar-Ikom Highway. Egbe is an architect and doubles as the project manager of Faith Global Int’l Services Ltd (a.k.a Faith Plant) an indigenous multi-disciplinary firm.
The Nigeria Police Force, Cross River State Command has confirmed the death of a police sergeant, who was killed by unknown gunmen at Edgerton Street, Calabar, the state capital. It was learnt that the assailants killed the police identified as Sgt. Peter Ikwen and took his rifle. This was contained in statement signed by the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Irene Ugbo, describing the incident as condemnable.
