Data centers in western and northern India are facing rising operational costs due to soaring temperatures. Firms like Yotta and CtrlS are using alternative cooling methods and renewable energy, while ESDS reports a 10-12% rise in power costs due to erratic grid supply. The Google Cloud Interconnect service will offer reduced latency and enhanced data transfer speeds, strengthen security, and increase agility, said CtrlS Datacenters.

The Chennai campus, in the Ambattur industrial area, will be the companys fifth hyperscale data centre campus in the country, after those in Mumbai, Hyderabad, Noida and Bengaluru. It is expected to create about 500 direct jobs and 9,000 indirect jobs.
