The tissue box-sized satellite made space research easier, and cheaper. It's been twenty years of observing Earth from the CubeSat.

The Central Coast is emerging as a hub for the space industry, with local governments and institutions like Cal Poly trying to attract workers in that field from Southern California and the Bay Area.

–The Paso Robles City Library invites the public to learn about the CubeSats—a class of research spacecraft called nanosatellites—invented at Cal Poly in the late 1990s that have become an international design standard.

CubeSat, a miniature satellite technology co-founded at Cal Poly, will be inducted into the Space Technology Hall of Fame.
