The first plane was operating a Delhi-Hyderabad flight, while the second was on its way to Raipur from Delhi. An investigation is being done by the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) which called it a “serious incident”.

There were no injuries or damage to either aircraft. The investigation is ongoing, with data from CVR and FDR, manuals, flight folders, METAR details, initial statements from crew and controllers, and recordings of radar data and ATC tape recordings being analyzed.

The vertical and lateral separation between the two planes went below the minimum permissible levels.
