Just days after taking his oath of office as the new Monticello Police Chief, Curtis Blount resigned amid protests by citizens and multiple resignations from officer on the citys police

Monticello Mayor Aaron Sims announced Friday that he had accepted a letter of resignation from Police Chief Curt Blount.

Residents of Monticello said goodbye to two of their police officers after Curt Blount was appointed to chief of police, at city council meeting.
