TC Energy announced Thursday that after a series of repairs, inspections and testing, the Keystone Pipeline returned to service with a controlled restart of the Cushing Extension.

The spill resulted in about 14,000 barrels of oil leaking out, the largest spill in the pipeline's history.

Calgary-based TC Energy Corp. says it has restarted the southern extension of its Keystone pipeline after repairing a Dec. 7 leak that led to the worst oil spill in the pipeline's history.
