Bids for the pickleball courts planned for Wesselman Park have been opened and are under review.

Jonathan Weaver, R-At-Large, Zac Heronemus, D-Third Ward, and Missy Mosby, D-Second Ward, introduced the resolution during Mondays council meeting.

City Council voted 5-4 to amend the citys noise ordinance Monday evening after more than two hours of discussion.

After Tuesdays meeting, the fire chief said four firefighters were on duty Monday and five on Tuesday, with four scheduled to work on Wednesday.

Council voted unanimously in favor of an emergency ordinance placing a 0.25%, five-year additional income tax for safety forces on the May ballot.

The vote came after councils finance committee approved the measure in a brief special meeting that started at 6:55 p.m. Tuesday.

The total retroactive payment is $327,855, while the additional cost for 2023 will be $73,767; and for 2024, $50,662, according to the mayor.

Jeff Reser recommends council completely eliminate the citys tax credit for residents who work in other cities and is warning cuts will be necessary.
