Voters planning to cast a ballot in next years city election will want to double check who their city council representative is.

The 2023 budget now includes money for a new maintenance crew, a move that has the city hopeful about managing the workload of its more than 50 parks.

There will be no research assistant for the Evansville City Council next year.

City council discussion once again turned divisive Monday evening, this time about potential pay increases for elected officials.

In all, the increase would generate an additional $81,000 per year for current operations and $27,222 for the replacement fund.

All but one Evansville city councilor voted in favor of recognizing June as Pride Month and remembering the anniversary of the Stonewall Riots.

Nearly a decade after the first conceptual plans for Roberts Park were issued, designers are heading back to the drawing board.

Terry Spiegel: "If we dont keep up with it now, were going to be so far in the hole, its going to be hard to get out of."

Mark Makeever suggested simplifying the language used to issue warnings, but allowing the presiding officer to have someone removed immediately.

"No, Im telling you, they dont make enough money to take the decrease like hes asking," Carolyn Shireman shouted, pointing at council members.
