TERRELL (WBAP/KLIF News ) - A 16-year-old is charged with murder in connection with the fatal shooting of a Terrell High School student before classes began Wednesday morning. It happened around 8 a.m. at the corner of Trailview Drive and Town North Drive about a mile away from the high school.

One person is in custody and a second is at large after a 17-year-old high school student from Terrell, Texas was fatally shot before school Wednesday morning.

On Wednesday afternoon, police announced a 16-year-old was charged with Jackson's murder.

The district said all of its staff and students at the high school remain safe, but an investigation is underway.
