On May 22, the LPD Criminal Impact Unit located and arrested 54-year-old Norman Catman in Brighton, charging him with distribution of fentanyl resulting in death, a class 1 drug felony.

Fort Collins Police Services arrested Branco Sept. 7 of 2022 in connection to the overdose death of Kara Gorman, who was found unresponsive by her boyfriend. According to court records, the Branco and Gorman — who was born in Kansas but had recently moved to Northern Colorado — were in communication by text about purchasing “blues,” a code word for fentanyl, only hours before Gorman was found. FCPS was unable to find any other source for the fatal dose of fentanyl.
